Rwamatamu Coffee is a Rwandan producer founded in 2015 by Mukantwaza Laetitia and Rutaganda Gaston, based in Nyamasheke in Rwanda’s Western Province. Working in one of the country’s prime coffee-growing regions, Rwamatamu is committed to quality, sustainability, and supporting local communities through close collaboration with farmers and cooperatives. Musozi, meaning “mountain” in Kinyarwanda, reflects the coffee’s origin.
This coffee was processed at Rwamatamu’s Mbare washing station in Muhanga, where cherries are hand-sorted and dried on raised beds for 26–33 days, allowing sugars and fruit flavours to develop. Once dried, the coffee is transported to Kigali for dehusking, polishing, and final grading.
