The 320 members of the Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative live and farm on a plateau that sits at the foot of Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra.

Intrinsic to this lot is the “Compost for Coffee” Farmgate initiative ran by our import partners at Sucafina. The new project in Indonesia turns nutrient rich pulp from coffee processing into organic fertilisers that farmers can use to apply to fields and nourish coffee trees to improve yields.

With this Anaerobic Honey lot, coffee is first floated and separated, sealed in airtight plastic bags that are stored in a cool, dry location for 7 days, followed by a drying period of 20 to 23 days before it is milled and hand sorted.
