Popayán is located in the department of Cauca. The so-called Meseta de Popayan is sheltered by the Andes mountain range which helps generate homogenous climatic and altitudinal characteristics. The result is a balanced cup profile with sweet caramel notes and a rounded fruity acidity.
Approximately 65 growers contribute to the program which produces this lovely decaf. This long-term program encourages farmers to focus on quality and the importers we work with at Cofinet provide up to 20% premiums above the market price.
